Spacex is a leading contemporary art gallery located in the centre of Exeter. The diverse programme encourages the public to engage with the latest developments in contemporary art through a changing exhibitions programme, which includes new commissions, projects and activities. A significant part of the programme, includes artist-led projects, events and research, which takes place outside of the gallery. Spacex has an international reputation for presenting ideas from some of the most daring and exciting artists working today.

The gallery based exhibition programme spans artists’ film and video, painting, photography, sculpture, installation and performance. The learning programme provides ways for visitors of all ages to explore and engage with contemporary art. A great deal of the programme takes place outside the gallery through off-site artist-led projects, events and research.

Collaboration lies at the heart of the organisation. Spacex continues to form long lasting relationships with artists, curators and partners from local institutions through to international organisations, helping to promote sustainable development in the arts.

Vane is a curatorially led organisation based in Newcastle. The gallery exhibition programme is focused on the work of a group of emerging critically engaged artists from the North East of England, across the UK, Europe and the USA. The gallery also shows the work of invited guest artists in collaboration with other regional, national, and international galleries as well as festivals and projects by guest curators.

Between 1997 and 2003 Vane was a project-based organisation with no permanent base. Since 2005 Vane has operated a permanent gallery space and has participated in international art fairs in the UK, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Switzerland, and the USA. In October 2011, Vane relocated to the first floor of a vacant office block and used this larger space as a platform to launch an enhanced programme, one strand of which is focused on assisting the realisation of exhibitions curated by artists.

The Tetley

The Tetley is a new centre for contemporary art and learning due to open Autumn 2013 located in the stunning Art Deco headquarters of the Tetley Brewery in Leeds.
PSL [Project Space Leeds] is the organisation that directs, and curates art for The Tetley. PSL [Project Space Leeds] were founded in 2006 and they have an ethos of supporting, enabling and working collaboratively with practitioners and producers.

They enable the production and dissemination of visual art through the programming of our project space and associated activities including events, mentoring, residencies, and commissioning, publishing, and off-site projects.

They aim to create opportunities for creative dialogue between practitioners based in Leeds and elsewhere and to position the city on the national and international visual art radar.
